Master cylinder and booster install question

I am getting ready to install all new brakes befor I drop in the new motor.
1968 Chrysler Newport.
1st question is; do I bench bleed the cylinder alone or as a unit with the booster.
2nd question; Do I need to do anything with the push rod from the booster, such as adjust it or, pull it out some, or just bolt 'em together?
Thanx in advance.

Bench bleeding is a must or you will not have a brake pedal,i would measure the length of the rod and be sure it is very close to the inside of the m/c.when installed.then you can install in one peice. Then bleed each wheel cylinder starting with the wheel furthest from the m/c
