Distributor wiring

Has anyone wired a 2 wire distributor into a 1 wire system? If so can it be done without a lot of cutting and connecting? I put a 87 318 in a 66 barracuda and would like to do away with the points and condenser, The distributor I have is from the 87, I'm retired and on a fixed income so I can't afford a conversion kit.

I’ve converted cars with 70s distributor’s but I have not tried doing anything with an 80s distributor yet, computers and fuel injection are things I stay away from. If it will work you still need a wiring harness and ignition box.

This motor is not fuel injected, it has a 2 barrel carb. Its basically the same as the 70's with the small control box which I would like to do away with as well. I was wondering if it could be wired like the Pertronix Ignitor with one wire going to each side of the coil.

You can do it only with a "Ready To Run" Style Distributor.
