Grd wire alt

Working on. 1973 Challenger ,it was a 340 auto car ,switched to a 440 4 spd ,after hooking up wiring harness I noticed a groung log on the alternator anyone know where this wire comes from I don't seem to have it .my car is discharging while running . I used a new engine harness for the 340 1973 Challenger ,is
So put a new regulator when I installed new engine . thanks Gregg

Alternator Housing grounds to the block.... Should be no need for a ground wire at that point???????????
Sounds like you lost power to the Alternator / Regulator....

Thanks were on the first start up just trying to sort out the discharge issue I'll check the battery while running in the am thanks
