New stereo for my '74 fury

Hi, I want to buy a new car stereo for my plymouth fury but I don't know if i can remove the original stereo without make any damage to the dash of my car, is it possible?

You should be able to, after all, the factory got it in there without damaging anything. If you can get your hands on a service manual that would help out a lot. Otherwise just take a close look around to see what nuts and screws are holding it all together.

Getting the old radio out is easy. Now getting a replacement to fit is another story.
A lot of people either modify the glove box and mount the radio inside it or mount it under the pass seat..

They sell adapter plates to block off part of the big hole the smaller new stereo won't cover.

What's the name of that piece? I want to search it on ebay

About the big hole... if I put a Stereo with a equalizer can I fill the entire hole?

There are several "install" kits offered that will help take up the space Brem talked about. AutoZone even carries a few of them as does Wal-Mart. Do a search on Scosche and see what that turns up. Metra is also another brand. Other wise its a 'custom' thing of your own design after deciding on the stereo, or as was suggested leaving the factory radio in dash and mounting in glove box.

Or maybe try Here for another choice.
