there is a horizontal section of the body where the rear of the front fender meets the door on my 68 Barracuda. Some time of semi-soft seam filler covers the, well, seams. I scraped it off and founder rust under it and have taken care of it. On the right side, bright blue paint still covers this seam filler. I will probably scrape it off (and what looks like old oatmeal dripped or poured down the side from the cowl) as well. Does this seam filler/cover need to be replaced? It won't be visible once the fenders back on. My concerns are not cosmetic but whether or not the seam stuff fills a purpose.

 

Seam Filler Dose 2 things.... Keeps fumes out and water out...
But if your trying to make it look good... That sometimes is a challenge....
