87 Plymouth Gran Fury
Hello All,
i recently found a great deal on a 87 gran fury. got the car for under $1000 and here to find out she only has 68k on her. (must of been a church car) most of my life i have been a import tuner car junky, even though i grew up around mopars. so now i have this potential great car and know very little about her. i have looked everywhere for info and well i am having no luck. there are things i want to do (being a tinkerer by trade) but i don't know where to start. the car is all stock the only thing i have done was radio (factory radio didn't work). know where i can get info or if you have any suggestions all will be welcome. i will post pictures soon because the weather just started getting better.

What Kind of info are you looking for exactly, if you just want a basic history lesson check out allpar/ http://www.allpar.com/squads/diplomat.html. if you are looking for advice making it run faster than all the basics seem to work with them. intake carb, cam, exhaust and gears will all give it more pep. I've had several diplomats over the years and they are great cars both of them had over 200k before they quit. A big issue with older cars with super low miles that you need to look at is gonna be filters, gaskets, and seals. when these cars sit for to long all this stuff dries up and they can start leaking like a siv. You should probably start with a trans oil and filter change and band adjustment, also check the ujoint condition while under there. Those dry out too when sitting and can fail prematurely.
