power antenna

For a 1987 Fifth Ave I am looking for the part number and possible availability of the relay for the power antenna. Wiring for relay would be helpful also. Thanks

RockAuto lists the following for your application:

OEM / Interchange Numbers: 4221615, 4364861, 4419169, 5226915, 5227415, C3940282

Should be able to get it at your local parts store.

RY-79 power antenna relay wiring.

All I have for wiring to the antenna relay are loose wires. Not in any plugs. Can anyone show/tell me what wire goes to which terminal on the relay? I should have 2 3 wire plugs. All I have are 6 loose wires. Thanks.

I don't think the RY-79 relay was the correct one. Either that or the new relay was no good. I couldn't get it to work no matter what I did. I found a way to get the antenna to work using 2 5 pin relays. If anyone wants to try it here is how: Relay #1: Terminal #30 goes to ground, #85 goes to ground also, #86 to radio trigger wire, #87 to antenna GRAY wire, #87A to both antenna GREEN wire and to #87 terminal of relay #2. Relay #2 : Terminal #30 goes to full time 12 volts, #85 to ground, #86 to radio trigger wire, #87 to antenna GRAY wire also, #87A to antenna WHITE wire. I just used this set up and it works just like original relay.
