My 1971 Plymouth Scamp

Here is my baby, most of it came like this. This is what I was told what has been done to it,

2 drht, fresh hipo 360 magnum, (well thats what they guy told me, but I dont know yet), 10 to 1 comp, ported heads, crane comp cam, Mopar performance M1 intake & elec ign. 750dp holley with a 1" spacer, eldebrock aluminum valve covers, msd ign wires, aluminum pulleys, very fresh trick 904 auto, with a 3000 stall converter, stage 2 shift kit. A&A weighted govenor, deep pan, 8 3/4 with 3.91 posi and BBP axles, kwb gas shocks, headers with 21/2" exhaust into 3 " tail pipes. ralleys with P215/60R14 and P235/60R15 's new radial T/A's. Has around 5000km's on fresh rebuild on tranny and engine. And a new windsheild and mopar battery and cables.

New things I have bought and/or put it lately:

-1" spacer for the carb
-eldebrock aluminum valve covers
-gt grant steering wheel, cant stand the thin dinky stock steering wheel. but going to get a nice match wood grain steering wheel one day. Almost broke my fingers a couple times with the dinky one.
-1974 scamp fender to body supports
-1974 scamp over flow bottle, had some crappy one in it
-vacuum hose for the secoundaries, which was never there
-replaced the crappy stainless steel fuel line with a new one and rubber hose.
-a dash pad that doesnt have cracks in it from having the passenger seat smashed into it all the time.

Other than that, the car was in great shape, I am the 3rd owner from what I was told. The under carriage looks like it has been under coated in the last couple yrs, which is nice. frame is solid. interior is in good shape other than a couple things I need to replace. Slowly trying to find everything I need.

A guy left a note on my car today at the parts store, saying he has a 1969 340 he is looking to get rid of with a bunch of other stuff. I am thinking of buying it to slowly build over the winter for next summer, but am curious if its better than a 360 and if I should stay small block or go big block.

Of course there are some things I have to fix, the vinyl top (the is a hole about a 2L thickness around on the passenger side), but deciding to get it fixed or take off completely and get the whole car painted. The head liner, the carpet, having all around drum brakes, no power steering, the non stock radio he put in, and siliconed it into the dash. the heater vent tubing, some of the wiring, some of the weather stripping, the bushings around the car are old and shot. but cant find any bondo, was told there is non, he took off all the emblems, welded the holes. going to fix all that though. and barely any rust, which is nice. going to strip all the paint off the car, see what other problems seem to pop up and paint her up pretty nice, either glossy black, ford red, its a mean red!

Trying to add pics on here, taking awhile. also going to post them in my album. If any one has any good ideas or parts I need or could use, please feel free to let me know, thanks!

about the 340. i my self would favor it over a 360! id favor a 318 over a 360.. a big block would be ideal. a 440. or a 400 with a 383 crank (forged) but then the hunt for a tranny mounts, maybe a new rear end to handle the bb power.

That is one of the nicest Scamps that I have seen in a long time.

I'll send you a link on how to post pics.

yeah you should see the 74 scamp I am trying to pick up, he wants $500 but I got him down to $400 so far, trying to get him a little lower, well just because I am a cheap bastard sometimes, lol! but its got alot of the parts I need, but the car is in pretty rough shape, I take what I need, part the rest out. so if anyone wants or needs parts, just let me know, should have this week.

and the blacked out hood, I am iffy on it, I like it but I dont, I like it for right now, but not for the future, lol!

engine pics coming later today!
