1970 Duster:

I have a 400 that I bought for it to stroke. I still need a trans. I'm looking at the stroker kit and heads from 440source.com. The Schumacher BB A Body kit, TTI headers, MP 292/.509 cam.

451 Stroker motor
Either a large 4bbl or a 6 Pac
727 trans/nice converter ( now thinking of a Tremec T5 )
Dana 60 Rear
Plumb Crazy Purple paint
Late model buckets
New Interior
Custom console
Nav deck
Amps, speakers.
Power Door Locks
Custom Dash W/Autometer guages
Centerline Convo Pro Wheels 15 X 5 front/15 X 8 Rears

1968 Dodge Dart
340 motor ( From the Duster )
727 ( from the Duster ) or T5 trans
BBC A Body 8 3/4 rear ( from the Duster )
BBC disc front brakes ( from the Duster )
Custom Dash
Custom Console
Late Model bucket Seats
Power Door Locks
New Floor Pan
New Left Rear Quarter
I haven't decided on the color. I like the idea of Black with a red Bumble Bee Stripe around the back.
New Deck, amps speakers...maybe even another Navigation deck...Dunno yet.

The Dart came with a 440, but I haven't decided what I am going to do with that.

I would like to do the truck just as stock. I'm probably going to just rebuild the 318/727/ 8 3/4 rear, then repair the rust and paint it back to original. I was thinking of dropping my 440 in but I now have my eye on a 73 3/4 ton with a 383/Auto. I think that 440 would fit REAL nice in there

All you would have to do is pull out the 383 and drop in the 440. That would really help that 3/4 ton move.

I know I just need to convince SWMBO that I need the 3/4 ton over the half ton. Also, with all the projects I have now, it could be a hard sell. I am thinking that if I give the half ton to her youngest daughter ( for some reason, she REALY likes it ) that might give me a leg up. The only reservation I have is, it's in rough shape...interior wise...and I don't have a source for interior parts for trucks. I didn't really see what kind of shape the body was in, but I am looking for something to pull my Duster to the track, so I want it to look good

Picked up the seats for both the Duster and the Dart. I got a pair of Chrysler Cirrus seats, including the power driver seat for the Duster ( don't care if it folds forward...no back seat ) and a pair of Neon 2DR seats for the Dart. I plan on finding a back seat for the Dart, so I need the seats to fold forward on that. The whole package set me back about $80 at the local Pull-A-Part

I found an 8 3/4 hosing on Craigslist for $40. When I got there, they guy gave me a 318 motor as well, minus rods and pistons. He even threw in a small block 4V intake to boot!

Not a bad find for $40!

Yup, that's right! Cracked cylinder running from the water jacket between #3 and 5, through #5 cylinder, to the water jacket between #5 and #7 Man this sucks! Just last week there were 4 400 motors on Craigslist for cheep. Now I can only find one, and I don't even know if it is still available...

That's ok...the guy I got the rear end housing and 318 from is holding a set of centerlines for me till Sunday. That should make up for what I just found

I have no idea. I have found a couple replacements, so it's not going to kill my project just yet. And, since I only paid $350 for the motor, and got a short shaft 727 for $50, I can still sell the heads and the crank/rods...maybe the intake. Make SOME money back. It's not a TOTAL loss...

That was the 400 I had bought for my stroker motor. Makes me sad, but I am looking at a couple options now.

The 318 looks solid. I need to get it to a machine shop for clean up, and maybe a bore...dunno if the cylinders are true or not. I imagine it will be a standard build on the 318. i'm thinking of building that as a spare for my truck, in case anything happens to it. I found out yesterday the truck has a long shaft 727 in it. I was kinda surprised about that. I also had to have the rear u-joint replaced. It was about to fall out

More later...
