Well, you win some, you lose some. This time I happened to win OTOH, for some reason, putting two big blocks and transmissions apparently makes your brake lights go out So, I didn't get to go to look at/buy the Dana 60 rear end Sunday.

THEN, my Holley rebuild kit doesn't take into account a secondary metering block So, now half my carb is rebuilt. I got a secondary diaphragm, but no gaskets for the secondary metering block.

I think I might just kit the carter 625 I have to see if I can get the car running. Then, find a way to secure the seats tomorrow night before the car club meeting. I guess it's NEXT month for the Duster at the car club meeting

$150. I'm going to still try and pick it up this weekend, if I can get my brake lights fixed.

*****Dart Update*****

Cut a deal today with a guy down south on a V8 K Frame, front disc brakes, and an 8.25 rear from a 1975 Dart for one of my 400/727 combos. I also threw in the 8.75 housing I had, since I decided to go Dana for my Duster. Since this weekend was a bust, and he is busy next weekend ( I am getting two teeth pulled anyway ) as soon as we both have the time, I'm going to head back down to strip the parts off the Dart, and give him the motor/trans/rear housing for his 72 Demon. Then, it's fun times with swapping the K Frame, brakes, rear into the Dart.

One step closer!

In all likelihood, yes. I'm probably going to end up with a truck Dana, and have to Narrow it. I think 2-4 inches shorter than a stock A Body rear is a good goal to shoot for. I think it would also compliment the mini tubs I want to do as well. This is why I am being very picky about spending big bucks on a Dana. I'm going to have to spend a LOT of money on it and don't really want the initial expense to be too high.

If you go with a truck dana 60 it will be a full floating dana 60 axle. The beni is that if you do break a shaft you can still drive it home without having to fix it where you break. Plus it will be an 8 lug, not 5 lug unless you find an early dana 60 or a semi-floating dana 60. If that is the case then you will have one 19 spline instead of the 30 spline of 35 spline of the HD dana 60s.

On a side note though, it would look cool.

For the Duster, I'm going to have the Dana rear end cut down, buy new axles with the 4.5" bolt circle, and have it fitted under the duster. I'm thinking of relocating the spring purches inside the frame rails, and mini tubbing it. Again, long way off, but plans help...

Well, that whole deal fell through So, now I am back to looking for a BBC disc brake set, and a late A V8 K frame. What is the scoop on your 8.75 rear? I might be interested.

I guess I can take the two days I was going to use to swap out my suspension to clean out my garage and get my Dart back inside, before my GF castrates me
