What's been done to strengthen the short block ? I'm not trying to second guess you, but an additional 400 HP of spray is a TON! I've read that the 5.7 block is only reliable to around 500 horse, I'd hate to see that wicked looking engine split in half with rods hanging out all over!

Haha, let's hope it doesn't come to that! I can tell you from personal experience, that I've broken engine & rear axle (8-3/4) parts using only 150 hp worth of N2O. Before you nail that thing with the full 400, you might want to start out with a lighter "hit". Good luck!

Wow This thread made 100 posts!
Seriously, I was told by the engine shop, I had to wait 1500 or so miles before I spray it anyway. When everything is sorted out, I will be running it in on a chassis dyno to test the spray. I will have O2 sensors on each header and will be monitoring the exhaust closely. Changing out the jets, 16 of them, is a real pain in the ***. I know, so is pulling the engine. It is very important not to go lean, and too rich can wash the cylinder walls and do damage as well. It will likely be mid-summer before I get that far (unless I really like driving this car).

I guess overall today was a good day. The temperature was at 73 degrees, sun was shining and...................
Today was her first day out! We went to the track and had a good time. Only made two passes and broke, but I can't complain, things could have been worse. The drivers side motormount broke and the engine rocked so hard the dipstick tube for the trans ripped out and I dumped trans fluid . Now I have to drop the header, replace the mount and do some serious cleaning.
I only have gotten one picture from a buddy, I will post more as I get them.

No times this trip out. I was making sure it would launch straight, stop at the big end, not shake or wobble, and not break anything.
Ok well I was OK up to the last part. Fortunately it wasn't anything horrible that broke.

OK! More pictures and more information on how the day went. We left from Bob's house about 9am and got to the track and were teched in by 10:30. Made the first pass EASY, just to see how it acted. Lifted at about 1/3'rd of the way down and just drove it out. Second pass (after letting it cool down for a while) I decided to launch harder. Left from the trans brake about 3000 and slowly leaned into it. As I pulled second gear it started getting "squirmy" so again I lifted and drove out to the end of the track. That is when I found out why it got loose. The drivers side engine mount broke, pulled the dip-stick from the trans and sprayed trans fluid all under the car. Needless to say I wasn't real popular with the track crew.
I was pleased that the car left hard without a huge burnout. It launched straight and didn't pull to one side or the other. It is unfortunate that the mount broke and I had to quit for the day but I am happy that nothing worse happened. This is exactly why I was going easy the first time out.
Here are a couple more pic's of the car at the track.
Staging lanes had a surprising few cars for as nice as the weather was.
Burnout box taking it easy, just wanting to heat up the tires a little and scrub off the crud.
Wheelie bars are attached to the rear axle. when it rotates under load the wheelie bars are pressed down to the ground to keep the front from coming up too far. You can see the slicks wrinkle on launch. I believe the drivers side tire may have seen light under it from this pic.

With the compression ratio and the amount of spray, I am going to have to wait 'till about mid season. I will have the car sorted by then, and with a starting point of 600hp I'll be busy getting it dialed in. Then by the middle of the season I can start breaking crap all over again!
PS, I got confirmation today from a friend watching, the drivers side did come up off the ground!
