Engine 318

I have 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 318 and the engine is blown. Been building a 1982 318 engine out of a truck nobody seems to know if parts are interchangeable. Could someone help me please

The 2001 is a Magnum 318 and the older 318 is a LA motor. I'm not a small block guy but I know you can put the later heads on an LA block your intake and I won't fit the early heads. You might have a problem with motor mounts also. Sorry I'm not much help one of the other guys will be on and straighten out what I've said and add to it.

I don't think that it will fit the heads.

Some but not all info here.

http://www.magnumswap.com/using-la-parts-on-a-magnum/

Intake manifolds won't interchange unless angle drilled to match.

Agreed... It's not a direct swap.. Look at them side by side..

You will not be able to use the magnum motor mounts on the LA but you can use the LA mount on the magnum block because it is made to be able to use either.
Good luck with this and keep us updated.
