Build ideas for a 383

Hey everyone!

I’m new to Mopar, and just picked up a 1968 dodge D200. Planning on swapping out the 318 poly currently in it to a 1969 383. I’m planning on driving the truck a good amount and am aiming for 400-450hp. As I said I’m new to Mopar so would love build recommendations to meet these wants or any recommendations and call outs to be aware for. Pretty much have a plain canvas so need everything from internals to top end.

Trying to learn as much as possible so any recommendations on good reads would be awesome if you got any!

Anyways thank you in advance and look forward to hearing y’all’s recommendations!

Got a couple for review.... One a little more budget minded than the other.... Only thing i'll say about building a low deck 383 is it should have lots of low end torque for that truck....

Not sure if you are going to keep the drum brakes at this time? But the only issue that i remember about these trucks when performing the swap is the breaking system on the drivers side need to have some mods done.
The exhaust on the drivers side can cause issues because of heat near the brake lines.... Just be mindful of it... What we have seen is that if you dont, The lines get hot and the brakes start to drag or even lock up..
I miss my old 1968 D200 with a 440 in it....

Keep us posted on the project and good luck....
Cheers
