1979 D100 318 Choking out
1979 D100 318 Choking out
I just purchased a 1979 dodge D1 105.2 L V8. Shortly after leaving the residence why I purchased a truck I started choking out. I had to continuously pull over because it would die and have to restart it. I couldn’t make it more than 100 yards down the road before I had to do it again. Once started it would continue running if I was in park but as soon as I put it in gear and start driving it would choke out. Once started it would continue running if I was in park but as soon as I put it in gear and start driving it would choke out.I am not considered extremely mechanically inclined so any help would be greatly appreciated. What is the problem?

From your post, it sounds more like you are starving for fuel and not choking. If it were choking, I don't think it would run in park either. Make sure the fuel lines are good and test your fuel pump.
Thank you for responding. I am having a local shop check it out and he said it might be the same thing. I don’t want to have to sell it but it looks like it’s gonna be a long battle to get this back up and running.
do you know of a good place to buy parts cheap for the D100?
