2wd Ramcharger build?? Need input.

Im looking into building a mid seventies ramcharger into a 2wd cruise machine. This said, is there anyone out there that can tell me what frame might work for this project? shortbox? Was there any 2wd ramchargers made? that would save me some time and effort. ive owned a 76 stepside, and a 77 shortbox. im looking to build this as a cruiser for myself , with the intention of maybe passing it to my daughter when shes old enough. any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ahead of time.

I think I've seen pictures of one on this forum in a thread on dropped pickups trucks.

Sounds like a cool project!

One thing if you cant find one you can build one, the frame is mild steel so it can be cut and a 2 WD front can be swapped with competent welding, triangulated four link in the rear and 4 air bags, late Hemi, COOL!

I want one.

Yes there were 2wd ramchargers, but I have no idea what might be involved in conversion.

You will either have to find a junker to convert the front suspension, or put a "clip" under it out of something else

You will need a 2WD transmission setup, and have a new driveshaft made. So your present transfer case / transmission is "a lot of useless."

If you can find a core transmission, you can change the mainshaft and tail housing of the present trans

Old thread, I know, but adding in case someone in the future wants to know.
Yes, there were 2WD RC's made. I have a 77. The pic below is mine with a 3" body lift that will be removed.
Also, the Ramchargers were made with a D100 frame shortened 9"

I have no idea what brand lift is on it or how long its been on there. I just bought it a few months ago. I can say that it is a body lift of 2-3 inches. It is a 2WD that I plan on bringing back to stock height and then using B series van lower front control arms to drop the front 2-3 inches. Ramchargercentral.com doesn't have much information on 2WD front suspension, so I thought I would mosey over here and see what's what. lol
