Howdy, I have been following the forum for a while and I just started on my project.
1979 D100 Custom. My father purchased the truck in September of 79 and was my daily driver from 1984 until I parked it in 2005.
I just put some tires and wheels on it so I could move it around. This will be an experience since I do not have a garage, and I am way too old and fat to be working in the dirt, but it is what it is.
I am starting on the Front driver's corner. Ball Joints, shocks, bearings. Using B100 lowers to drop the front 1.5 inches.
45 years of weather is making it tough.
I am sure I will be on for help and questions!
I have been buying parts since January! The upper control arm bolts is where I am stuck now. It appears they were installed backwards, with the nuts on the inside. Ratchet will not fit and and only a 1/4 of flat turn at a time with 45 years old rusted bolts.
Stay vigilant and knock something out everyday... Looks like a great project.... If you have been on here for as long as it says you have... I know you have seen how long i have been driving mine as a daily driver....
This up coming July will be its last leg of service for me as a daily driver.... Needs some well needed TLC... Good luck and hope to see all your progress... Cheers
I just got my whole front end rebuilt with lowering spindles over this last winter. I had a hard time on those upper control arm adjusting bolts too. I had to use a wobbly socket and long extension on an impact to get them loose. I replaced them when I put it all back together. It was definitely a lot of work getting all those rusted parts off and replaced but worth it.

It’s running great! Still dialing in the alignment but it makes good tire smoke. Next up will be a better carb and I have a different rear end that I’m going to try out.
