I have a 82 D150 and it currently has motorized windows that have bad motors, would rather have hand crank windows. Are the motor assemblies able to be swapped out with a hand crank?
They are indeed difference, I have crank windows and needed to replace both regulators..... I could find electric ones all day long, finding manual ones.... yeah, that was a treasure hunt that eventually involved calling a dozen or more junk yards until I found a pair.
If making the swap to manual, you would also need a pair of new door panels I would think, I can't picture where the holes are for the electric switches, but would be surprised if they match the hole position and shape of the manual panels.
I've used Dorman manual regulators. They seem to work find however they do have a flaw I would watch out for. The adjuster for setting the lowering limit uses an eccentric cam pressed onto a shaft.... this cam can slip (on the shaft) allowing the regulator to lower too far and fall off the tracks/hangers. I used my mig welder to fix this issue.
