84 Dodge W250 Died in back 40

My farm truck died on the way to back 40 on the farm. The symptoms are: Engine fires, runs up then dies. I have replaced the obvious parts that is the fuel filter and the fuel pump so I have invested $24.00 for both no help but probably need those anyway. I suppose it could be some of the ancient emission control parts, however, I am at a loss on how to bypass on something that old. Any ideas on a plan of attack for the old iron would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like its got a large Vacuum Leak?
Check for broken hoses. hoses that might have fallen off... Cracked or missing vacuum caps. and so on..
