DIY Suspension or pay someone
DIY Suspension or pay someone
Hey guys,
The suspension in my 75 with 1979 3/4 ton axles is horrible. It has a block 3 in lift that's pretty worn out and even has some exciting wood shims slipped in there.
What do you think, it seems pretty straight forward to buy a new kit and do it myself but I've not done any 4x4 suspension work before. Any of you all DIY suspension guys?
I've done front end stuff on an early 70s Nova, those coils seem harder to work with than leaf springs.
Only motivation is money.

Buy good parts as complete kit as you can and do it yourself. Rear suspension is easier than the front.
If you need to spend a little on tools or equipment that you will have for ever thats better than giving the
to someone else to do it.
That's why I have a garage full of tools and equipment.

Yeah the biggest issue is getting the old bolts out. PB blaster is not that good. I use aero kroil, it gets much better penetration. If the wood shims are in the front then make sure and check your pinion angle before removing anything and make sure you get it back to the same, without using wood preferably.
