HELP 360 Flywheel and Dampener question

Hello. Well I am very new to Dodge's. I bought a 1975 power wagon and it has a 318 in it for now. Backed by an NP435 and an NP203 transfer case. I just ordered a 360 long block from surefire engine's DD06. I just learned that these engines are externally balanced...... Im not sure how to word this next part correctly. When i get a new flywheel. for the 360 engine how do I mount it to the crank correctly so that the weighted flywheel does not mess up the engine? Also same goes for the harmonic dampener.

You will have to bring it all to a shop and have them balance it together.

For a 1975 360 the front balancer will be much thicker than the 318, auto zone should have one or ??. the flywheel can be balanced for the 360 by having someone removing some weight

IF this 360 meets "factory specs" the answer is simple. You get a balancer and a flywheel for a similar year range 360 (LA if it's LA and Magnum if it's Magnum, etc) and BOLT THEM ON

IF this 360 is a stroker, etc with a different spec crank, THEN you will have to have all components balanced as an assembly. There is often confusion about this. The deal is, some engines are known as "internally balanced." The 360 is "externally balanced. This means originally, as supplied from the factory, with the proper factory balancer flywheel, the engine runs balanced AS AN ASSEMBLY of those parts and within the weight balance weight variance that the factory claimed.

When you go around using stroker cranks, different weight aftermarket pistons, or balancer or flywheel, then the OVERALL balance changes, and is therefore then "wrong"

Both the dampener and the flywheel only go onto the crank one way. Make sure you get the right flywheel. Count the teeth on your old one assuming you are using the same flywheel.
