I've never had to get a vehicle running before so I'm not entirely certain where to start. This was my grandfather's Dodge Ram. It's got an aftermarket 318 and a 5 speed overdrive transmission. rear wheel drive. The AC compressor is missing, the radiator and air filter can are aftermarket. Any help would be appreciated.

 

How Long has it been sitting?

 

I don't have an exact figure but something to the tune of 12 years. It was moved down into the field today so a 76 Cadillac could be hauled out for scrap. Battery in it is dated October 2011.

 

Truck ran when parked, He was trying to wire in an oil pressure gauge when he parked it and ended up leaving it there to sit because he started driving his dad's 02 Silverado.

 

Well... I would say... Siphon all the old fuel out.... Add some new fuel, make sure it has oil and water in it... And check it for fuel and spark and see if it starts....
And lets go from there....
