Pistons Hitting Crank counterwights

I’ve been on a Journey rebuilding a 318. got it machined ready to go and i put the crank in which is a 3.58Inch stroke and OEM style pistons but the pistons seem to be hitting the counterweights and i was wondering if anybody knows of On the shelf pistons that will help get rid of this issue. I’m also putting Edelbrock performance RPM cylinder heads on it. anything helps thanks.

Are you trying to use stock 318 pistons? If so you need pistons specifically for the bore and stroke how along with the deck height of the block you are using. The Edelbrock heads are ok there are better but they are ok, the thing you need to do is have the heads gone over by a competent rebuilder before using, check areas like guide clearance and have a performance valve job done.

Try Keith Black or ICON for pistons but I’ve heard off the shelf pistons are hard to get at this time, custom might be the best way to go fo now.
