Thanks for the complements!

Mishimoto, I still have the fenders, doors, hood and trunk. They are being stored for now. The fenders are rusted out at the bottom, I haven't done much research on patch panels for them yet. If I have to ill make some patches. The doors are in good shape as far as not having much rust damage, however they are not the RT doors with the slots in the front. Same for the hood, It does not have the bubble Like the RT. I am planning on putting a blower in the car so the hood will get a hole cut in it. No need to chop an RT hood.

To any body out there who knows where I can find a grill for a 71 please let me know, although I don't need it any time soon.

Also looking for a 440.

I like the progress you are making. My Charger has a lot of rust and your thread is giving me hope that my car is savable.

looking good really good, my compliments.
your patching is great!
You can see your welds keep getting better, all that practice your getting eh.
It's tough welding in tight space's and around all the curves and angles.
Are you using a mig only or are you using a stick welder also?
What size/type wire/rod, what amp are you welding at?
What are you using to shape your patches?
And how did you get the body on the carousel?

Thanks for the complements. I am using a 110V miller mig welder with .023 wire and CO2 shielding gas. I have it set at the lowest setting, some times I bump it up to the second setting. I have the wire speed set at around 60. Some times it works well, other times not so good. I cut the patch panels out of sections of the floor pan that I removed that was rust free. I try and find a piece that matches the couture best. Then I flatten it on a large flat piece of steal and bend it with hammers, dollies, a break when needed, and good old fashion hands. I have a band saw with a metal blade that makes cutting sections a breeze. I am working on a patch panel for the quarter in front of the rear wheels. I am having to re shape it and it is taking some time. I need to see if I can get my hands on an English Wheel.

I got the car on the carousel by jacking it up and resting it on blocks until it was high enough to bolt on. That was an all day job, but it has really paid off.

Thanks for the encouragement every one! Hopefully soon I can move to mounting the front fenders, doors, hood, and trunk. Then I can start to line everything up for body filler.

I had to stop here because I ran out of weld through primer. It sucks because I was in a good working mood.

On a separate note. I have been pondering what to do for sub frame connectors. I was about to make my own until I started browsing through the forum. I found a post about sub frame connectors. Some one posted a link to US Car Tool. I like what I saw on line. I was looking at the companies information and discovered they are based here in Durham. My apartment is just a short drive away, so I paid a visit to their shop and saw their operation. I was very pleased, although they said they were temporarily out of the sub frame connectors for the 71s. They said to contact them after new years. I also saw the torque boxes they make. I plan on buying a set of sub frame connectors and torque boxes with my next paycheck.
