New Charger 71 SE owner, need info on model
Hi forum, just bought 71 charger 383 SE
its my first classic car, so i will have tons of questions, but for now, im really wondering about that side molding my car has, i couldnt find a single charger with same one on the internet, so just wondering, is it a special additional option or just everyone removes it?
Will i have any problems by removing it?
Thank you

mouse -
I'd say someone put that on after the fact. The "fact" being a door ding and not wanting another one.
They work - but unless it's going to be a daily driver, just too fugly. But be careful, if that's old paint, some of it might come off when/if you remove the striping.

They are aluminum secured with rivets and a vinyl insert.

Thank you all, btw, sorry for my English, I'm from Cyprus=)
Ok, gotcha, junk staff,
damn, so if I remove it, I will find 1 million of holes.
, you asked more about the car, so its 383 charger, stored since 1991, automatic, numbers matching.
Im planning to actually "drive" this car, I guess this is why they were built) So, not yet sure, what I gonna do with it, of course new painting, engine rebuilding, mb will upgrade suspension, brakes. Really, any advise welcome.
Ah, btw, car is not with me yet, shipped from Netherlands.

I have the same vehicle same color same top but no side trim on mine. There are no marks I see where the side trim is on yours. I believe mine was manufactured in canada rear bumper brackets and rear drums stamped canada. yours was maybe manufactured somewhere else. I don't think it would hurt anything to remove it.

Oh lol, just noticed that 5 years passed, gosh, what a ride it was, i could probably write a book about that resto, every single thing didnt went as planned.
But here you go, here how it looks now
Do i ride it? probably got less than 300 miles, 3 fuel pump died, double carbs failed, moved to EFI, week ago on the first drive , old u joint got destroyed.
