Overdrive transmission

I have a 67 Satellite with 3:23 rear end and a 727 Transmission, any advice on either changing transmission with aftermarket or adding overdrive to existing. I would like to run maybe 3:90 and have the overdrive for highway. all thoughts appreciated . pete

sendust -

Actually, that's exactly what I'm doing.
Switching from a 3.23 to a 3.90 in the next month or so.
If I can deal with it on the highway, great.
If I can't or don't want to, I'll get back on the phone with Gear Vendors.
They are great people and know the 727 well.

You will have to cut the drive shaft 12" or get a new one.

If it weren't for the Gear Vendors option as a failsafe, I would never consider the 3.90.

FYI -
3.90s + GV/OD = 3.08
4.10s + GV/OD = 3.23
