25 extra bucks got it here this morning

Before I left the house UPS dropped off my box from Summit Racing...I took their box out and set it in the glovebox...get fit...their instructions also tell you to mount it in there or a place out of the engine compartment to keep it away from heat...oh well I will spend a good 4 hours on it tonight wiring it up....

The box is in there

I decided to test the distributor tonight when I got home because something had to fry on the last run to keep it from starting back up...I checked the old one first...390 ohms then zero as I turned the reluctor...the new Summit one read 970 K ohms all of the time so I figure it's gone. I got the box in the glove box...I ran new ten guage wire for the power and the ground...all connections I do are bare crimp connections then soldered and covered with heat shrink...took the wire harness out from the inside and ran my four new wires for the coil and distributor..got everything inside buttoned back up...

Thumbs up Okay I played with the other car today and then got some work done tonight

I finished the wiring harness in the engine compartment...I ran new wires all the way to the coil and distributor only to splice in some of the old distributor wires...all of them are crimped then soldered as explained before...I did away with a section of the distributor wiring that went by the alternator then made it's way back to the distributor..I also got rid of a 4 way connector for the coil...temp sender and oil sending unit...feel good about getting it done and started tomorrow....this is what's gone

Thumbs up It runs now

Well I had a long night last night and did not get home to 1:00 AM...so I will post me progress today...I finished all of the wiring and it started right up...I ran it for a pretty long time...I set the timing at 10 degrees before top center for now....I have a small oil leak at the very rear of the driver's side valve cover...I will correct that when I pull the intake to repaint it..right now I am smoking my brisket and when I finish that I will take the wiring harness off to the side and tape the rest of the loom up...I didn't tape it all up in case there were any problems...I ran all the wiring inside the car in loom also to protect the wires...that is the only photo at this time...

It made it out of the garage....around the block...parked it on the street with those small front tires and then pulled it into it's home for at least the next two weeks...while I work on the 4 door car....

Yep me too....those are way down the list of things to do...I copied the aspect ratio of the tires I had on there before and they didn't work

A crappy Cell Phone video for ya

I did a video yesterday before I went for a short cruise around the block...mind you that this is from my Black Berry....the little chingling noise is the metal tag on the master cylinder being blown around by the fan...always done that....

I got something new and larger yesterday..

I got the Murry 26" radiator brand new yesterday at O'Reilly's for 129 bucks...I had a spare radiator fan shroud for my M body and decided to see if it fit...it did but is pretty dirty...will search for a better one...it already 97 here so all the cooling I can get I will take..I look up a part number for the Aspen 26" radiator fan shroud and they match...guess they were using them through 1989.

Made a short road trip

Went to my storage last night where I knew I had another radiator fan shroud...oh well it lines up nicely with the mounting holes but is not tall enough...was worth the try...

The kicker was the 360 or factory air...22 for /6 and 318 with no factory air...there is an NOS shroud for 175 bucks but I am hunting for a good used one before I pay that...opcorn:

Have been busy on the M body

Haven't done a thing to the Aspen in over a week...oops I did start it and back it up in the driveway only to run out of gas...well I am ditching the chrome Holley fuel rail.....and today I purchashed a Rusell Preformance fuel line...it will give a better look than rubber fuel lines and clamps...I picked the black one so maybe it won't be so noticable..this way I can run the aluminum line back down to the filter also...next week the Gran Fury should pass safety inspection and then I will be back on the Aspen...

Got to do a little work tonight...I decided to switch up to a bigger radiator...if you have a 26" opening why run a 22" radiator...well I got my Nos 26" fan shroud tonight and placed it on the new 26" radiator that I got awhile back...it fits like a glove and looks brand new...my front tires were too tiny..they are 205/60/15 in the front and the back ones are huge 275/60/15...made the car look funny...took the wheels off the front and they go back for some 235/60/15...Now I go back junk yarding on Sunday for another 26" Mopar radiator and it's still in the air if I will run the one with the part number or the new one...oh well here's some pics

I usually don't pimp eggbay but here goes

I noticed the last time I took off the radiator cap that the rubber had expanded and was shot...the search began...on eggbay I found an OEM one for $9.95 so I bought two of them...they showed up yesterday and I was very surprised to find the same part number on the new as was on the old...

For your info....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWNX%3AIT

very fast USPS Priority mail shipping also....

My old one is on the left.....

I got the Aspen out yesterday...went for a short cruise and found time to add the candy cane trim on the front fenders and the headlight buckets...all would look better if the hood was one...I also took two crappy pictures from the side to try and show how the wheels and tires look..
