Post 3rd owner 1959 Desoto Firedome

I very recently impulse bought a very rare 59 Desoto 4dr sedan project. As the 3rd owner I am getting as much info on the history of the car as I can. How important is knowing the entire history of a car when owning/buying/or selling a vintage car to you guys? I have all the factory paperwork with the car and the previous owner is willing to share what he knows about the ol girl and want to ask the right questions. So far I know how long he drove it, why he got it, why he stopped driving it, and where its been since last driven in 1976 until I saved her.

That would be more than enough info for me. I don't really care about a car's history (OK, don't care enough to go sleuthing for it over a number of years) past what the PO knows, for the most part. I mean, if it's something famous or suspected to be, maybe, but for the run of the mill old car, not so much.

Any pictures of the survivor?

I posted pictures of the old girl in the new members forum. I am purchasing a parts car I found for her because she needs a lot of parts! The original owner drove way too long and had a habit of hitting into things LOL
