Finally after saving the 59 a gentleman got wind of me selling her and wants her. He is a collector of 50s Mopars and wants a 59 Desoto. He is supposed to be here next friday to pick her up. She has a good future and will be returned to as new condition. I will even make money off her. This is one of those rare situations where everyone wins. I am wondering who else has had a save where they made money and saved the car?

 

I bought a 50 Chevrolet in 1985 because it was a great car and a great deal, the guy sold it to me because he thought I would fix it up but I had made no promises. Anyhow I had the car for about 8 months and my wife and I were at a party when I was approached about the car the guy wanted to trade a 77 Dodge shortboxs for it. I had the pickup for twenty five years.

 

Yeah, i've done a heck of a lot of trading and swapping but i don't think i ever specifically "saved" a car, that i know of.

 

I forgot to mention that the chevy got redone fairly quickly and nice.
