I have a 2003 Jeep Liberty 4x4 that I can't get into reverse. The Drive selections (D, 1, and 2) seem to work fine. Also when I put it into Park seems to be working. The problem is when I put it into reverse, it acts like it is in Park. In addition, when I put it into Neutral it seems to be partially in the Drive mode. Is it a linkage adjustment or something else?

 

low reverse strut broken ?? Drop the pan and see if the metal anchor for the band is broken or if lucky it was out of adjustment and just dropped into the pan
