I watched that dumb *** show last night.
They decided to build a Galaxie and had a decent story about the "history" of the '62 Galaxie..... but, the pictures that went with their story were Chevelle convertibles! The thing is.... the Chevelle pictures, mistake, didn't just happen once.... It was more like 3 different times throughout the show.

on the show, they all seem like tweekers and nothing seems like its done right at all...

It all kinda looked "hack" and "sloppy" for their work on the cars. Patch it up and sell it! Its clear these guys are not enthusiasts for any of those cars. Just a bunch of "flippers". Its just "product" to them.

So, I watched the Barracuda episode today and yes, I think you're right.... they switched cars. The wierd thing is, before they had the second (V8) car, they were talking about the rarity of the V8/push button automatic that they were working on but, you could see the slant 6 in the car.
During their 'History Lesson'.... they showed what they described as a "Ford" Fleetline coupe that was "rodded".
A "Fleetline" is a Chevrolet.... as was the car that was being shown.

With some proper and correct editing... the show could be half way decent.

The car looked pretty good but, the only good thing about this Barracuda episode, is that the buyer did alright for what he paid for this car with a transmission that should be toast..... soon!

I wonder if they are factoring in the amount they have to pay the workers in the profit amount. If not, they are probably losing money.

That show is like the rest of the "reality" shows. They create drama with some fabricated deadline. The rear window on the Cuda episode was staged to add more drama. They may be halfway good mechanics but they are horible actors. I guess they add deadlines and foulups just to keep it interesting.
Then if you watch the other automotive shows like Gearz or Two Guys Garage, you end up seeing nothing more than an infomercial. They move from table to table selling the latest and greatest their sponsor has to offer.

I saw the show. When the cars go to auction they talk about the car being restored. I doubt they do much more than what is required to get it up to the block other than the cosmetic paint and interior work. The buyer for the Barracuda got the car at the right price for what it is.Hopefully he has some more coin to spend on the car, he will need it if he plans to drive it.

So, I did some checking and....

It looks like it's going to be '66 Chevelle SS that they don't realize how rare this particular car is, until after the build starts!

There was also something about possibly another Mopar coming up in the future.

Desert Car Kings
Chevelle SS
TV-PG (L)

Jason strikes gold when he discovers that a 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle he bought is actually a rare SS model. But can the crew find a high roller who's willing to buy the restored car at their auction?

The 66 Chevelle is a 396, at auction they announced it was a 454, they didn't put those in that model year. And they are in the car business.

Nit picky? Maybe, but listening to the younger guy talk at the beginning of the show, his dialog was spot on for Rick on Pawn Stars. The whole show has the same feel as Pawn Stars. Must be they have the same writer or something like that.

I love the fact there is a car restoration show like this, it's one heck of alot better than "JersyRiffic" or whatever it is. But I get a little tired of the false dead lines, made up controversy etc.... Makes all these shows the same same.

Other than that duffis Rich Christensen, Pinks All Out is my favorite on TV.
That and Pass Time.

Joe.

the Chevelle episode was weird. the whole show they raved about how original the car was, then it winds up with a non-original motor.
