03 Neon loss of power uphill

Car runs OK on level roads. Power loss uphill with max rpm 3k with pedal to floor.
Manual 5-spd with 73k miles. Started 2 weeks ago with two tank refills. No CEL codes. I replaced spark plugs (normal) and air filter. Gave it to the dealer thinking it was clogged cat.
Dealer verified following is good: cat, fuel pressure 58 psi with good flow, timing, injectors, verified back pressure, check for clogged muffler (good), compression good, no vacuum leaks
- replaced O2 sensor - showed rich mixture
- drained gas tank, cleaned fuel lines and injectors
No improvement.
Suggestions welcomed.

I Agree...Check the timing belt..I have also seen the tube between the throttle body and intake colapse causing it to starve for air...

Thank for feedback

Dealer verified Timing is correct.
Old plugs showed normal wear.
I suggested to dealer CPS and they reported that it was good.
If dealership service cannot find the root cause then I will change CPS.
Thanks for feedback and all suggestions are welcomed.

If they say all that they've check is good, then your car should be running fine. Obviously something is not right.

I'm still betting on cam sensor and magnet. Common failure. Especially on SRT4 neons.

I just re-read this that it drives fine on level roads.... In that case it's most likely not a cam sensor issue. I'd be leaning more torwards a fuel pump issue. Have them test fuel pressure under load....

Look at short term adaptive at loss of power. If it starts adding 20+%, it is a fuel delivery problem.

Thanks for input

Well dealer put another tech on the issue and he removed the exhaust and it ran fine.
-Clogged CAT.
Mmmm that's what I had them verify in the first place.

Thanks everyone for your feedback.
