1968 Chrysler Newport (2 Door Hard Top)

Hello all,

I recently inherited from my Grand Father a 1968 Chrysler Newport 2 door hard top 383 2 Barrel. He took VERY good care of her, but as with all things they wear, look old and need a little extra TLC.

I plan to restore her in honor of my Grandpa.

Shortlist:

Motor
Paint
Upholstery
Transmission Seals

Future restore projects:

EVERYTHING ELSE.

Any tips, tricks, links you can share please do. New to this Forum but have been a Forum member for YEARS.

Thank you so much in advance- I look forward to sharing my progress in detail.

Welcome to the forum.... Glad to have you here..... Only advise I have is take a lot of pictures.. Before, during and after... Digitial photos are great.... they don't cost a dime until you print them... I don't know how many times I went back to mine during the Challenger build....

Also be sure to check out the Moipar of the Month contest.... See the sticky for the simple rules and then you can help choose the winner...

Lable everything with tape (wiring connections, hoses, etc) or put them in a baggy (nuts, bolts, screws, etc) and write on the bag what it is.

One last thing, post up some pictures of the old girl. We are a "picture loving" forum.

I'm baaaaaaaaaaack!

Wow it's been a year and I apologize for the delay. Thank you so much for the warm welcomes. My brother-in-law and I are tackling the task of the mighty 383 rebuild.

Intimidating no doubt given this is our first one EVER. Any tips, are SO greatly appreciated.

I am looking for a rebuild kit for starters, I guarantee more to come as we delve into this. Please let me know your thoughts, suggestions...etc.

Here is a pic for now.
