225 to 440 swap

I have a 76 dodge dart sport lite equipped with a standard 225 CU slant 6. I love this engine but I want to drop a 440 in there and I needed to know if I need a new K-frame and everything to swap out the engines. My friend says I'm going to have to torch some things to make the engine bay bigger but before I listen to him, I wanted to know from the professionals here at mopar forum.

Only thing I can add is yes it will fit........ However I don't know all the pieces it will take to make it fit. If you can run down "Dave Connelly" from Arkansa he has done one with a Hughes engine pack along with testing it down at Area 51 Performance in Dallas Texas.....
My understanding is that once there in the car.... It's not to fun to work on..
Keep us posted on what you do..... Also Welcome to the site.....

Just my 2 cents

Welcome to the forum..... Be sure to check out the Mopar Of the Month contest we have here....

I haven't done your swap but can tell you a 440 in anything does not leave a lot of room..... Good luck on your project. And keepus posted on your progress ......
