50 Desoto
My name is Art, I have a 1950 Desoto that I have had for 30 years. I have been slowly restoring it. Most of the time it has sat and not run. Now that it is done... I start it up to discover it has no oil pressure. the oil pan was taken off and cleaned along with the pick up tube and screen. Still no pressure, when i take off the oil filter line at the block and run it all i get is a trickle of oil..Could the pressure relief valve { which i have not addressed} have any thing to do with?? Any thoughts? Please help, Thanks

Welcome Art...... 1950 had an L-6 and a L-8 if i recall?
Anyway the L-6 6 cyl. was what they made the most of.... So I'll go with that one for info.
When you had the pan off, Did that model have the swinging pick up screen? If so it could have gotten stuck in the up position. Also Yes the relief can effect oil pressure it has a gasket/seal that may have went away on you.
If you go back in. pull the pump and test it in some oil, just to make sure thats not the problem. Take a good look at the gear on the end of it also, it may have a problem.
Hope you find it and it's simple....
