72 Swinger 318 manual trans options
HI, I'm new to this site, and was wondering if anyone could help me out with some info.
I have a 72 Dart Swinger Special, it has a built 318 out of a 68 Coronet, I want to put a 5 or 6 speed manual in it, but don't want to spend the money on a T56 for a Viper. I have been looking into NVG 3500s, but I think the body is too big for the car, what about the Getrag 238? I want a close gear ratio, but something that will hold about 400+ ft lbs. It also has to fit in the car, and the shifter needs to come out in a normal spot.
Thanks for the help!

Welcome,
But just outta curiosity, whats wrong with an ole 833, guareented to fit, bolt in and can handle the power.
Perhaps,
a BW T10 is an option?
Granted, its a 4 spd stock but iirc,
I thought I read somewhere,
there's a kit to convert it to a 5spd (?)
plus you'd have to build up a T10 a little anyway...
