James Coleburn/automatic transmission
I am a retired automotive body shop owner. I am rebuilding a 1963 Sports Fury Plymouth. I am changing a 318 motor to a 440. I need help with the transmission adapter. Can anyone help me?

Welcome to the site...sounds like a fun project.. 
Yes we can help... To answer your question... That would like trying to put truck fenders on your car... It just don't fit.
The Small block trans bell housings will not fit the big block engine... The bolt hole spacing is different...
So you will need to get a big block bolt pattern transmission... Jegs, Summit, CRT Transmission, A & A Transmissions, PRO Trans, ECT.
