1973 426 Hemi??????
I need some help guys. I bought a 426 Hemi from a man in FL. that raced super stock Mopars is the early 70's. The casting on the block is dated Feb. 1973. Anybody know if Chrysler was still making Hemi's for the super stock classes in 1973? I have looked for info on it and there is none to be found.

Yes Chrysler was still making 426 blocks in 73'.... I dont think it was specific to Super Stockers tho...
I also think (If I recall) the 426 was special order at that time. Still an option, Just not a off the lot buy.
Just my 2 cents....

i have all ways thought the street hemi was from 1966 to 1971. course we all know that. outside that i will never try to guess what chrysler would do for non-stock race cars. i saw a 1971 440 out of a charger with .010 over pistons, from the factory. it had chrysler part number. but you cant buy one from the factory. all lest most of the factory service manuals i have show, stamps on block that indicate over size lifters, , maltese cross, m-2-3...... on 6 cyl A =.020 O/S cyls, 1967. just to list a few.
