I found the problem a cornet owner told me if the previous owner didn't know what year the distributer was from the points may have an arm that is to long or short making it fire slightlly off the intended post in the cap then vac. adv. pulls it even farther away making it fire on the wrong cylinder or not at all. I pulled the vac. hose off pluged it set the timming by ear no more problem
