Exclamation 360 to 318 swap

swaping from 1988 360 to 1980 318. problem is 360 came out of a truck and 318 out of a aspen car, the oil pans have different set ups, 318 is front sump 360 is rear sump. Are the oil pumps mounted in the same location in both blocks if so can I just switch out the pick up tubes? Thanks for the input

The 360 is externally balanced and the 318 is internally balanced. You'll need to get a different torque converter and flywheel. I believe that the pumps are in the same location so a simple oil pick up tube swap should work.

Pump is in the same location , just need a new pickup. Your 360 converter should have a weight welded to it for balance. Just use a grinder carefully and remove it.. Flywheel is the same

What everybody forgot to tell you is that the OIL PAN mount on a 360 block is different---the rear "half moon" part of the pans is different. You'll need a rear sump 318 pan, depending on sump depth, you may or may not be able to use the same pickup.

As others said, you'll need the proper damper up front to match the engine and either remove the torque converter weight or replace the converter, if it's a stick, you'll need a different flywheel.

Motor mount "ears" on the block are slightly different on the left side. I don't remember exactly what you need to do there. If you can cut, weld, etc, you may be able to bend, modify, the mount bracket. Right side (passenger) should bolt up
