Water Pump issues

My water pump was leaking on my 1967 318 engine, when I went to take it off the pump blades were smashed and 3 are gone. The pump blades also carved there way into the pump about an 1/8 of an inch. The pump is replaceable but should I go looking for the fan blades?

This is the water pump

Sounds like the bushing that centers/holds the shaft in place is gone.
I'd just replace the whole thing with a new high flow unit, especially since the housing was damaged.

I was going to get a new water pump but should I go through the mess of trying to get the fan blades. And if I should how would go out doing that?

I Agree.... Don't be to concerned about the blades.... New pump for sure.... Also Look at the Timing Cover and make sure it is not damaged.

Timing cover is damaged, not as bad as the waterpump though. Its just a 1mm circle in the timing cover.

LA water pumps and a used housing are a dime a dozen. A rebuilt water pump comes with a new impeller
