1967 barracuda 273 starter disengaging issues at start up

I'm hoping somebody can help me. I have a totally original 67 barracuda 273 with 37,000 original miles on it. I just purchased it and am having trouble with what sounds like the starter continuing to run after start up when I turn the ignition key. After turning the ignition on and releasing, the starter continues to whine and run whether the engine starts or not. It does disengage but continues to spin freely for about 5 seconds . I replaced the starter and have the exact same issue. Spoke to numerous people and they had all kinds of comments but one man in particular said that that is pretty common for Mopar starters around these years. Is this something typical, and should I be concerned with it, and is it correctable because it's pretty annoying. Thanks guys

Try replacing the starter solenoid or relay, the first connected to the starter. I got a feeling its sticking or hanging up. Less than 25 bucks so give it a try and report back.

Thank you Iowan. No ones mentioned that yet. I'll try that next weekend and get back to you. I appreciate the help.
