426 Hemi exhaust manifold gasket problem

Was wondering what type of exhaust manifold gasket anyone could recommend for a 426 Hemi? I also read that instead of a gasket to use high heat gold silicone? Has anyone tried this?

Welcome J to the site..... Not sure what the problem is with the gaskets your using? But are you just going Iron Head to Iron Manifolds?

If so.. Make certain that the manifolds are Flat.. Some time these are know to warp out of shape and cause the gaskets to blow out.. TTI has them and Also Mancini Racing.. Hope this helps

Keep us posted..... Will stay tuned.....

Bob,

Thanks! blew a gasket last summer and replaced it with a new one (Mr Gasket Co.)
Took the car out this spring and it was leaking again on the same side but in a different spot. I didn't notice any warps. Maybe cause it should have been re torqued?

J... Some guys like to install the gaskets with the exhaust still hooked to the manifold.... My suggestion is install the exhaust manifold and then install the exhaust at the flange. Then after a few heat cycles come back and just give them a snug... Hope this helps..... Keep us posted.. Got to love a Hemi Car!!!
