Question '55 Belvedere, am i losing my mind?

Hi All, I'm a first time poster and I have a question that only the people on this forum might be able to answer, I've owned more mopars than I can count, starting with a '55 Belvedere, a couple Darts, a Coronet, A van, A Dakota, 300M, Sebring and on and on. I swear my '55 belvedere, my first car in 1978, had a V6 engine, it was very strange looking with a kind of raised intake manifold and i believe a 2 bbl carb, my question is; Am I crazy? An old friend I were talking about this car, he remembers this too, by the way, but when we looked for it on the interwebs we can find no reference to this motor. if anybody knows anything, please help me out! Thanks

Thanks RacerHog but I'm sure this motor came with the car, it was just a mom & pop survivor at the time with the 2 speed auto on the dash
