Good day to ya all, I have been working on my house today, painting trim in a bedroom. Sure glad i'm not paying me by the hour because it takes me twice as long as it should......

I hope to get out in the shop yet this fall, get started on an axle swap in my Fairlane.

8.8, I'm lucky I have Quick Performance in Ames Ia., they did tubes, ends and axles for $600. I have a 1350 yoke and a carbon fiber clutch kit for it but have not decided on brakes yet, it depends on what I use in front. It will be hung with a complete Caltrak setup, this and the snotty 289 will make a fun summer daily driver. Should be a mid 11 second car.

Got up to a nice 56* morning, and the day will turn out to be about 85* here in SO-CAL..... Headed back out to work on the Lexus.. These things have a Hydraulic driven engine cooling fan, I dont understand engineers some times !
Well back out to work at home..... I'm like Coronet 500, I'm off for this week.

Just got back from talking with my buddy about getting into my 9.5 motor. I have a set of bushed rods and I'm thinking about ordering a set of custom pistons in the 13 to 1 range so I can run e-85 with it also. I think I would go with the 590 cam I have on the shelf also, that should bump the hp from 525 to?

 

Now why would you put that cam in a 580CI motor?
What you bumping the H.P. from 525hp to 475hp...lol

.590 are all over the place on there specs. Seem to work well for going 10's in the heavier cars....
Is the E85 at your local fill'em up?

 

This is Iowa buddy, corn capital USA, there is guys running 1200 RWHP on the stuff locally. But its LS bowtie power.

If I go bigger than the 590 cam I'd have to get into springs etc. and I have the cam.

 

Yummm Corn and Tamales come to mind...Not E85..lol.

Just got done helping my buddy with is 1200HP Bob Penella Motor, He needed more H.P. to run the NMCA and PSCA Hot Street class, Runs a 400ci SBF with the New NHRA approved Holley EFI... Kind of Cool, Make good power on the dyno and also got some good promising numbers shaking it down. 03 Stang, 8.23 out of the trailer in the 1/4... Went thew the lights @ 9700rpm..

Bowtie's... Those dont even get my attention till they start running down in the 4.05's range in the 1/8 mile. You can go to Vons and buy Head Gaskets and Pistons if you need some.

Us Mopar guy's have to go way out to try to get parts to do anything with. Most of it is old old technology unless you get into newer fuel motor stuff or Pro Stock stuff, And most of us are not in that club...
