POR-15 is a "paint" that is designed to be a rust inhibitor. When the surface is prepped properly, it will never come off. As far as a "por-15 engine paint kit", I did not know they had one.

Why not just use an engine primer and paint?

Thumbs up por 15

The POR 15 engine paint has been around for a while. I used some on my RR and my son-in-law has it on his 56 GMC.
It flows on nicely and gives a good finish result. The kits which include cleaner, brush, mask etc. must be newer and I have'nt tried that however the paint itself is the same.
If you "GOOGLE" por 15 you will see all their products.

Never used it on a Mopar engine, But I have used POR-15 on my MG's, the engine paint stands up well on those little engines despite the heat they throw out, and constant oil and fuel leaks they are prone to.

I've also used POR-15 on a winch bumper which started out as bare rusted steel, that bumper lasted longer than the rest of the vehicle, and is still going strong on someone else's rig today!

My 2 cents is you can't go wrong with POR-15 if you apply it correctly!

I went to Auto Zone and got some high heat Primer(VHT) 1300-2000 heat range and engine paint it holds up well I did my intake in it.

I think the POR actually stands for Paint Over Rust.

I have a friend that used it on a D60 rear axle he was building for his CJ project. It stuck really well to a rusty axle that just had a wire wheel gone over it. I wouldn't use it on a frame or bumper that would see rocks though as it will peel off just like anything else. a brush on bedliner would be better cheaper and easier to fix on something like that.

Sorry to get off topic.
