Troubleshooting no spark
Troubleshooting no spark
Hello. I have a 69 plymouth Satellite with a 318. It has a stock distributor system. I have no spark. I’ve checked what I could figure out. First of all replaced the ignition ballast resistor, which didn’t fix the problem. I’ve checked the points and they look ok. Just replaced the alternator regulator I don’t know if that has anything to do with it. I checked the resistance of the coil, which is supposed to be10,000 to 11,000 ohms. It’s readimg 8,000. Could this cause it? I also would appreciate any tips on troubleshooting this as I have never worked with a distributor ignition system before. Thanks for any replies.
Ignition woes!!
Got a 79 d300 truck with a 5.9l chrysler 360 stock ignition. Upon cranking it will catch and immediately die then it will act like its tryin to run on 1 cylinder. Had it pulled to start ( battery didnt have enough amps to keep crankin and it is a manual) and it would sputter but not start just replaced the plug wires. Coil only 3yrs old. Could it be the coil or ballast resistor or is it the ignition module. Help!! Thanks.
