74 hornet 440 727

I've recently realized that making my car fast without the huge price tag is gonna take more than i can get out of my amc motor, so my buddy traded me a 67 440, .030, flat tops and forged, steel crank, the block was standard as it wasn't the block that was used for this rotating assembly, its balanced and only had 4 races on it, so i just got the block back from the machine shop and it looks great!! I made a deal for a set of eddy heads from another guy with a set of crane rockers, i've got a 582 ultradyne solid, m1 manifold, 727 trans with reverse pattern manual valve body, 3500 converter..
I have to make a set of headers, using a front plate setup, still have to tie the frame together, and finish the cage

i knew that the stock rear end wouldnt hold up so when i first got the car 11 years ago, i put a 9 inch ford in it, its got 4.11's and a spool right now... i'm gonna leave the leaf springs in it for now because its setup like super stock springs and i have yet to have traction problems... i'd like to see how far i can get with this setup...

what do you guys think for a carb? i'm thinking that i should start with a 850 dp holley, and tune from there.. my current 700 dp i dont believe will be enough..

an 850 would probably be better, but you can get away with the 700 for now

my day started off bumpy... literally......, got hit by a guy who ran a red light on my way to work, later went to finish assembly on the 440 and the intake wont fit, the rocker shafts are wrong so everything came to a halt till i can figure out what to do... the intake is what i was told is a "stage 6", which is why it wont fit my heads..the rocker shafts wont fit through my crane gold rockers, ohh well, will start fresh tomm...
