As long as they are both LA blocks, they should go right in.

You might as I am not sure there. I'm sure that someone on here (like Steve) would know though.

craveman, the 360 is the same engine wise, except for, the oil pans different the 360 has a wider rear main, the back of the pans wider around the back lip. youll need a different pickup too cause its got a truck pan on it.use the 318 car motor mounts, yes the converter is different, there s a weight kit you can get its basically a wedge shaped weight that you weld to the converter for the 360, they re balanced differently then the 318. if you do this you can use the 904, you can get the kit from summit racing or mopar performance dealer. but the converter you have is a lock up if its the stock one so the shift points will not be right for the 360.ither get a new comverter , or get another trans 727 from a dippy cop car, you cant use the truck 727 because the trans mount is located different to my knowledge , and the shift bell is in a different local.on the side of the bell housing.unless you hace an aftermarket shifter in the car, then you can use the trans and just make a new trans mount for it then your in buiss.

decided that shes not getting the 360 in there anymore. girlfriends dad is going to sell me an absolutely spotless 89 dodge dakota 5.2l 4wd longbed with 160k for 1000 bucks. truck has absolutely no flaws at all. runs perfect. ive done all the mechanic work to it that it needed in the past 2 years (thermostat and heater core). he just uses it to pick up firewood once in a while with a trailer. not even any scratches in the bed! i know it has high milage but there are absolutely no oil leaks, no exhaust leaks, no noises and the engine compartment is spotless. so clean i would feed a baby off of it lol. blue book value on my fifth ave dropped sometime in the past 2 months from 1300 to 325 so it looks like its going to be an enduro car or ill trade it for a rifle.
