Car is dead no power.

Ok so my friends and i went out to day to kinda christen the newport as the new fun car of the group.
We went to go eat got back to car went to start it. There was nothing.
So we called a friends dad who lived down the street he came to give us a jump.
Nothing no headlights no interior lights not a bump from the starter.
But my horn still works.
And if you run connect hots on the little solenoid, relay whatever the thing is that the positive lead from the battery runs too the car cranks. But wont start.
Any ideas or directions from here?
Kinda need the car running by 1 o'clock tomorrow.
My girlfriend has my truck out of town.

Is it a fuseable link perhaps?
or could it be that little solenoid switch thing?

Sounds like it could be the starter relay for starters. Are you getting fuel and spark?

Cranks but won't start? That part of it sounds like the ballast resistor. Ceramic thingy on the firewall. LOL

actually, now that i read this post again, i remember having a similar problem. the lights and everything worked, but it wouldn't crank... it turned out to be a bad connection at the battery terminal. all the connections in my car are crimped, and i think one of them popped out.

i had a problem with my starter relay.everything else worked.you could start the car by hotwire thru the relay as long as the key was on.bad connections or faulty ignition switch would be my guess

I have no power to my fuse box. Had terrible day yesterday couldn't get to car really.
But yeah no power to my fuse box which i believe means it is a faulty wire or fusible link.

unscrewed fuse box.
pulled assumed bad wire tested it where it connects to fuse box.
It was bad tested it about an inch up plugged it back in so wouldn't forget the spot. (was going to get wire cutters.) it sparked plugged key in turned it. Car fired right up.
So i just cut it and put a new connector on it cars fine now.
Im a very angry person right now.
