throttle linkage

throttle linkage

trying to set up my throttle linage, not really sure how to go about it, any help would be greatly appriciated ( spelling ??? )

Are you talking about the stock linkage or an aftermarket piece? Assuming you mean getting the throw on the pedal to match the throw on the carb?

The stock cable and linkage should be pretty simple. Assuming you know where it bolts on (usually the manifold bolts), adjust the cable on linkage so there is a little bit of slack with the gas pedal in the rest/idle position and lock it down. Then have some one fully depress the pedal and make sure the throttle plates are fully opening, WITHOUT the the throttle body acting as a "stop". That could damage the carb. Adjust the cable's position on the linkage as necessary.

If you need help with a kick down linkage, hopefully someone else will jump in, haven't used one in decades.
